Desk space

How about we peer a little into everyone's life and see who has what.

Below are pics of my desk, the place where all the downloading magic happens.

As I am sure it will come as no surprise, I do in fact have 2 computers running, plus a laptop in another room for the gf. 3 computers, 1 DSL line, 3mb connection. Its not enough I tell ya !!! Oh, the DVD case above the subwoofer holds 96 discs, its full at the moment. And you will also notice I have 1/3 of my DVD's left on the spool. I really do need many more HDD's.

It's alright but some of the keys are missing, and WoW stopped working on it

i would post a picture of my desk space but that is pretty much my couch or bed

Although, how do you have one computer, 3 monitors, and yet only one keyboard and mouse?

I can run 4 monitors at the same time. I have a Matrox QID LP PCIe graficcard, and that allows up to 4 (Q = quatro) separate Monitors in full size (my is 1600 x 1200) so a can display 4800 x 1200 px at the desktop. Maybe you ask why I am usig that. On the right side I have all the files open I use to work with, in the middle is the program in use.. and at the left all the functions to work with.
Ok I can see 3 videos at the same time too, but this makes no sense... lol

me, I make life simpler, I just by more computers and use a switch to go back and forth. :-)

How do you switch from one display to another to do different things???

It looks like your running a business there in your basement, im still very jealous of all your toys! I have GOT to buy more stuff.........

Yeah I do it professionel. My wife would never allow me to buy that stuff for privat.. lol. The second desk is only for office works..
There is a thread about HDD. So I use now a Raid6 by Promise Super Trak EX. Because I lost all my datas last year. I had a Raid too but running in performance mode (0) and all my HDD (I buy it at the same time) are stop working at the same time, exactly after 3 years while the garanty was over... This was a good learning process for me never do it again...

first one is the wifes computer and I do work on that computer, the other three are of my three computer one on right holds everything while the two on the left are for the downloading and such. Then the laptop is for my pleasure, for whatever the mode is. Also a nice lazyboy to do it all.

I just added a two output video card to my old computer. I was surprised to find the on board output would still work. So I am running three monitors on one computer(2 CRT and 1 LCD). to switch from one monitor to another you just move your mouse accross the three screens. It works really well when working with files or video. I am on DSL but live in the country so my max is about 1.5meg. I would post a picture but my place is so messy with computers drives and junk piled around. There is probally six computers or parts of computers in this room but only one is active.

Lol, that's how my fiance is. She doesn't understand why I want to buy three monitors. She's like "won't two be enough!" Nah! :P

And wtf is RAID6? I used to run RAID5 on my server (linux) until I moved...then I got rid of it...I need to build another File Server! :P
