Fucking Ouch!

Monday in work I went to light a gas/oxygen torch. Someone had left the valves open but the torch unlit. I used a striker to make a spark to light it and instead of the blillowing orange flame from just gas, I got the a POP when it went straight to a blue flame. This flame is used to heat steel to its melting temp. The results were 2nd and a bit of 3rd degree burns on my finger. Could have been a hell of alot worse though.. :crying:

you got lucky big time. i had a guy do the same thing but it backfired and split the torch head open while in his hand

OUCHIE! I hope it gets better soon! I've never burnt myself badly before but I know even the small ones hurt like hell, I cant imagine how that one feels! :(

Thanks peeps:kissing:.. Hurt like hell the day it happened but the good/bad thing is it hasnt really hurt at all since. I must have burnt up some nerve endings.. Yeah Ive had little ones that hurt for days so In that sense im lucky. Hey Mumz I was back to work the next day.. Still working 12s . And umm Yeah im Ambidextrous in some ways :lurker
