I am terribly hoping for the cubs to make it to the world series. Do I think they have the pitching for it... no. Do they have the hitting for it... well with only 104 home runs and a collective average of .269 prolly not. They should be leading the division by at least 5-6 games but they can't capitalize when they need to.....

In all likelyhood, and I hate to say it.... the mets vs the red sox :(

I haven't been watching any of the Cubs games this week, but I would hope part of the problem is that Pinella is resting some of his regulars with only a few games left and a 2 game lead so they're better prepared for the NLDS.

However, pretty much every National League team other than The Rockies and The Phillies needs to wake the fuck up and actually DO SOMETHING. The Mets, Cubs, Brewers, Padres, Diamondbacks all suck at the worst possible time. It's going to be a weird World Series of the National League doesn't even show up to play. :hitwall1:

I'm a 6'6", 30 year old man and I was actually watching the game and giggling like a schoolgirl. I stood up and yelled mocking obscenities at the TV when Jeter almost fell over while striking out. I'm actually going to the game on Friday, and I fully expect to get tossed by the third inning. :D

I won't be surprised if the Cubs/Dbacks series goes 5 games...but I'm not sure it matters, because The Rockies look to be crushing everything in their path.

Yeah, Westbrook has kind of sucked all year. I can't for the life of me understand why he started game 3. Byrd should have pitched 3 (he's not MUCH better, but for whatever reason, he generally gets more run support), and brought Sabbathia/Carmona back for 4/5. The way it looks now, the whole series is going to go to the Yanks. Yankees are too good of hitters to be fooled by stupid things like Byrd's double-pump BS.

Yeah, that was terrible. The whole team just gave up. Honestly, the only person on the team who shouldn't be ashamed of themselves is Jake Westbrook. He was far from perfect, but he put everything he had into it. I can accept losing if the other team is just better, but this one was hard to swallow.

Also, I'm a big CC Sabbathia fan, and I despise Josh Beckett...but if Beckett doesn't win the Cy Young after what he just did twice in a row to his biggest competition for the award, MLB can suck it.
